HAPPY B-DAY TO MY TRIP!!!!!!!!

I am back again and ready to update my diary.
I have stayed commited to using the "old-fashioned" way of paper and pen but I have only just got around to transfering this to computer.
Today its been a year, a year since I left my Italy, a year since I've seen the people close to me, a year since I started what can be called a new life, a year in which I've done all the jobs imaginable (actually not all, fortunately for me), a year that I have tried to live with a new language, a year that I wake up and try to keep motivated, a year of choices (many of these painful), a year of emotions, emotions of all kinds ... a year ago I did not know what was in store, and now, after 1 full year, I'm still here .. the time has flown.
The time flew by but I remember the moments in which it's been very hard. If I hadn't of gritted my teeth and kept trying, I would have given up. I remember the times that passed slowly - when I was on the farm, when looking for a job, when I was alone for a month in a hostel, but I remember well all the people who helped me to pass those endless days.
My jobs have included - the farm work, cleaning the guest house and hostel in Perth, working in a factory where my only view for hours was a wall, a waitress at  Italian, Mexican, Australian and Chinese restaraunts, a deli (cutting meat!) and finally and currently working in a fish and chip shop (typical fast food in Australia and a job I would rather say less about).
When you're travelling its impossible to start with a job and then work your way up. Each time you change the city or workplace you have to start everything from the beginning. I have changed states three times: New South Wales, Queensland and now Western Australia. In the latter I have been here just over a month and this is where the adventure begins for the second year.
The thing that keeps me alive is being proud of myself, because I have achieved these things alone (although with special thanks to Dave). A year ago it could have been a failure because I didn't really know what I would find in the future and if I would have been able to do it but now I know that if you believe in something you can achieve it. Today I do not care what I have to do, what kind of work is required or for how many hours, the 'only thing that matters is to keep alive my dream!
A heartfelt thanks is reserved for the most important thing that brings me out in these situations: the warmth and love of people, my crazy and special family, all my friends, new ones and old ... those in life that have always supported me. Thank you because my happiness is due to the fact I can share all of this with you!!

There comes a time in life when there is nothing left to do but go their own way to the end.
That is the moment of their dreams, that's the time to take off, strong of his convictions.

Torno tra poco...pochissimo...lo prometto !!!!!

I am coming soon...I promise!!!!!!

giovedì 20 settembre 2012

ieri...yesterday..

GRAZIE MANLY PER TUTTO, PERCHè ANCHE NEI MOMENTI PIU' TRISTI MI SONO SENTITA VIVA E PIENA DI EMOZIONI!!!!!

The moment that I have waited such a long time for has arrived. I'm ready with my backpack, a bag and a trolley case. My backpack has grown even bigger during my time here... I love traveling so light!
It's 4:30am. I am in front of the bakery, which for millions of times has fed me at expense of just a few dollars. I will miss the super kindness of the Chinese lady who works here and that smell that has always drawn me here, even sometimes without an appetite.
When I arrived here there was no greeting, just empty streets, and now I am leaving, the same - Manly is deserted at this time of the morning.
Manly - what has it given to me? Now that I'm leaving I know that probably, in fact definitely, the answer is so much.
It's been my home here in Australia for almost all of these 11 months and has given me great friends, the best you could wish for since I am 22 hours away from my homeland. I won't list them all but you know who you are and this includes my special friend, Ila, who came here to visit for just a few days. I am really really lucky!
This place also gave me a job (more than one), a home with my unforgettable friends and house mates. It gave me another home, the guesthouse and the friends I made there. It gave me a simple bench which is a special place that i have loved and I am still loving. It made me feel at peace even in one of the saddest moments of this trip. It has given me the best welcome twice with the Ocean and all the joy that you can feel when you admire it. Its also given me bad days, tears and boredom. But positively again it gave me many sunrises, the sky with millions of colours and the most beautiful trip with one of my best friends. Lastly it gave me you and the time for "us" to live together in Sydney last month, and again in a room with the best view in the world. I've had the strength and the charge to remain in Australia until now.
MANLY THANKS FOR EVERYTHING, BECAUSE SAD OR HAPPY I HAVE LIVED HERE FULL OF EMOTIONS and..IT MAKES ME FEEL ALIVE!!!

sharing a present...

speranza sufficiente a renderti felice.
e ognuno intorno a te piange.

"The things I've learned in life"

Paulo Coelho

Here are some of the things I learned in life:

-That no matter how good a person, sometimes you hurt.
And for this, you must forgive her.
-What it takes years to build up trust and only seconds to
destroy it.
-What we do not have to change friends if we understand that friends change.
-That the circumstances and the environment have influence on us, but we are
responsible for ourselves.
-That, or you control your acts, or they will control you.
-I learned that heroes are people who have done what was
needs to be done by tackling the consequences.
-What the patient requires a lot of practice.
-That there are people who love us, but they simply do not know how
prove it.
-That sometimes the person that you think you will launch the fatal blow when
fall, is instead one of the few that will help you get up.
-That just because someone does not love you the way you want, does not mean that
do not love you with all his heart.
-That you should never tell a child that dreams are
nonsense: it would be a tragedy if he believed.
-That is not always enough to be forgiven by someone. In most
cases is you have to forgive yourself.
-That no matter how many pieces your heart is broken, the world does not
stops, waiting for you to fix it.
-Maybe God wants us to meet a little 'wrong people before
meet the right one, so when we finally meet, we will
how to be grateful for that gift.
-When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but many
times look so long at the closed, we do not see what is
been opened for us.
-The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit with a
porch and walk together without saying a word, and then walk away feeling
it is as if it was the best conversation you've ever had.
-It is true that we do not know what we have before you lose it, but it is also
true that we do not know what I was missing until it arrives.
-It only takes a minute to offend someone, an hour to like, and a
day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.
Do not try appearances can be deceiving.
-Do not go for wealth, even that fades away.

-Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile
to make it look brilliant a bad day.
-Find the one that makes your heart smile.
-There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that
you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real!
-Dream what you want to, go where you want, be what you want to be, because you have
only one life and one chance to do the things you want to do.
-May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, difficulty
enough to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human,
enough hope to make you happy.
-Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel tight, probably
they also feel this way.
-The happiest of people do not necessarily have the best of all
thing, they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
-Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends with a cup of tea.
-The brightest future is based on a forgotten past, you can not fit
in life until you let go of your past failures and your
pain.
-When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so that when you die, you're the only one who smiles
and everyone around you is crying.

ROAD TRIP..from Mt Tamborine to Sydney by car!!

It's been twenty days since I left Mt Tamborine and the resort where I spent six weeks for the remaining days of the visa.
After leaving, we headed to Noosa where we ended up back together with some old friends (fantastic Dave, Diego, David and Vale).
Noosa, a beautiful location described by the Lonely Planet as the pearl of the Sunshine Coast, has been a blessing for me. And undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places I've seen (so far) in Australia.
In three days I have changed three hostels and I must say the best value for money was the Flashpackers (clean, staff super friendly and breakfast included).
On the beach at Noosa I wrote a few words and, rereading it, I do go back to that magical atmosphere experienced a few weeks ago: "finally that feeling again, the positive energy around me once again, the smell, the sweet sound, colour , the sky becomes one with 'him', people who stay hours to contemplate, peace, joy, serenity, 'he' is always and only 'he' can give me all these emotions together ... him ... the 'OCEAN ! "
Unfortunately, the stop in Noosa was short, but the arrival in Brisbane had several surprises.
This stop in Brisbane coincided with my birthday (30 years old in Brisbane .. a special way to spend my birthday).  The city has a very pleasant climate, museums, people and a culture that breathes. Walking near the river at lunchtime is a spectacle of people who eat their meals with bare feet, sitting in the sun or resting in the shade. They are sporty (this is a feature of most Australians), others walk. The Brissie residents love their city and love the outdoors and this is evident everywhere.
My thirtieth birthday began with a hearty breakfast of pizza (God bless the bakery that I found), a walk through the city with a stop in the park for the legendary lunch of bread and blue cheese (I love to travel but not without my Italian delicacies). Next was a ride on a Ferris wheel and then some relax time to enjoy a massage in China Town. The dinner was a great thai (Pad-Thai -great vegetarian food...) The evening then continued with live music in one of the millions of places you can find in the city and some beer (just a few) kept us company until late at night.
On July 31, still a little stunned by the evening before, we continued the journey that would direct us to Sydney. The stops were fast and with only time to relax for the one night, the first in Yamba and the other in Port Macquarie. These stops were necessary since Noosa to Sydney is 1060 km - every time you travel in this continent you quickly learn how massive it is.
I could not savour much of Yamba and Port Macquarie, but the thing that struck me with admiration was that Australians (of any age and at any time) can be found in a car idling in front of the Ocean. Now it's too cold to go to the beach, but they love their ocean and admire it quietly for hours in a car. When you watch them, they do nothing but smile, which in turn, gives you the same expression.
Well ... now we are back at the original base, precisely in the same house in Manly where I started this adventure. It will soon be ten months since my journey began.
I can't deny the desire to return home, to at least give a hug to my loved ones, but unfortunately, now it's again time to pull up my sleeves and start working again (actually I never stopped but having not been paid in  the last month and a half, it's as if I didn't work).
In two days I'll have a trial at a restaurant ... and hopefully .. fingers crossed, the adventure begins in Sydney, again!

If you trust your instincts and accept life as it is, one day you can find peace, not only in happier moments but also on those occasions when the going gets tough. Because the secret is simple: it's all in our heads, the reality is a mental condition, nothing else.
